“For any kind of trespass, whether it concerns an ox, a donkey, a sheep, or clothing, or for any kind of lost thing which another claims to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges; and whomever the judges condemn shall pay double to his neighbor. Exodus 22:9

When people order something from the Ministry and for some reason it gets damaged in the mail or there was some mistake in the sending, it is our Ministry policy to send that person a new undamaged item PLUS an extra gift for the grievance. Restitution always repays extra for the grievance! That is the reason why the Torah speaks much about indemnification for damages caused to our fellow humans.

During the rule of King David there was a terrible drought in the Land of Israel that was threatening to kill the People through starvation. When King David inquired of YHVH, He answered and said:
“It is for Saul and his bloody house, because he put the Gibeonites to death.” 2 Samuel 21:1
When King David understood that he was suffering because of the sins of his predecessor, he immediately sought to rectify the wrong by making restitution.
Thus David said to the Gibeonites, “What should I do for you? And how can I make atonement that you may bless the inheritance of the Lord?” 2 Samuel 21:3
